Filter Classification

3M 6055 – A2: Designed for higher-capacity protection against organic vapours with boiling points above 65°C.
3M 6059 – ABEK1: Provides broader protection against a range of gases and vapours, including organic vapours (A), inorganic gases (B), acid gases (E), and ammonia (K).

Best Suited For

3M 6055: Ideal for work involving solvent-based paints, varnishes, adhesives and resins, particularly when combined with suitable particulate filters.
3M 6059: Better suited to mixed chemical environments, including pesticide or weedkiller spraying, chlorine exposure, acid cleaning and ammonia-related tasks.

Capacity & Performance

The A2 rating on the 6055 provides a higher capacity for organic vapours than the A1 rating found on the 6059.
The 6059 uses an A1 rating for organic vapours in order to provide additional protection against inorganic gases, acid gases and ammonia.
